El Caminito

One of the most spectacular areas of Buenos Aires is El Caminito which is situated in La Boca. It is known for its colorful buildings and a great atmosphere with bar, music and Tango dancers. I was lucky enough to go when the weather was perfect with blue sky and bright sun! Here are pictures I've taken there using Hipstamatic...

travel curse and more...

There is 2 well known facts about me. 1- My travel curse and 2- running into friends or famous people anywhere in the world....
1- I stupidly anticipated a very emotional departure but an Air France staff decided otherwise. It appears that when you stay in argentina more than 3 months, a visa is needed. I've explained that I wasn't staying in Argentina for more than 4 weeks. Staff asked me to show any official document such as flight ticket to prove it. Since we are using a truck, I couldn't. I had to buy a ticket to chile and show it to that chap. Hopefully, I'll get it refunded (which he knows about). Out of the 22 of us, I was the only one to have that problem. I was the only one to choose Air France too!! After that I only had few minutes to say good bye and then had to run to catch my flight...
2 - Yesterday, we've been to watch a polo game as part of the best polo event in the world (according to locals). I ended up watching it near Bernard de la Villardiere, whom I had a quick chat with!!

The last...

Because I am leaving for nearly 7 month, I am now doing a lot of things for the last time. Work is one with everyday a new "last". Last Sunday night quiz shift, last opening shift, last closing shift and tomorrow my last shift ever at the White Horse in Haslemere... It is only 4 hours but I know that it will be some of the most special hours in my life. I have spent 18 month working in this pub and it has been a great experience. The pub, the customers, the staff. I know that if I work in pubs on my return- and I do believe I will- These 18 month would have been a huge step in my carrier because of the experience I would have gained.

Introduction

Hi! Like a lot of men coming to my age I have made a drastic decision of going travelling 6.5 month to South America. Because "un dessin vaut mieux qu'un discours", here is the link to show you the route

Vaccination is a winding road...

Ok, here we are. First post of million! It is difficult to decide where to start though as there is a lot going on at the moment.
Last one was finding my second rabies vaccine. When all jabs have been nice and easy (all provided by the nurse), it seems that rabies is THE exception to the rule. Ok, I know it is a French discovery but still... Problem is, there is a shortage of it in England so I had to go to Woking to get it. Took me 2 hours! Only to hear the nurse telling me that, in case of bite, 3 rabies jabs costing me £200 would only give me an extra 24 hours to get to the nearest hospital and get treated. Now, is it worth it? I am really not sure...
