Carnaval at Salvador de Bahia

Here we are for one of the milestone of the trip. We are spending 6 days in Salvador de Bahia to celebrate the Carnaval. We are splitted into 3 different appartements. Our is 10 mins walk from the strand which makes it ideal to go there and back.
On the strand, mega trucks turned into giant outdoor disco drive along for few hours from the Lighthouse until the top of the hill. Each truck represents un Blocco and has its own artist on it. People called pop-corn can by a t-shirt and follow the truck. The rest of people gather along the way. It is also possible to pay to get to one of the different balconies along the way.
most of us decided to be popcorn for the blocco Yes! that had Bob Sinclar on Friday night.
We then joined the Olodum blocco on Sunday afternoon. Olodum is a worldwide famous drum school from Salvador de Bahia. They appear on MJ's video "they don't care about us". it was to me the best of both blocco as we were with a majority of locals. However, drinking Smirnoff Ice (don't ask) for 10 hours was probably not a good idea.
We've spent a couple of nights in the old town of Salvador. It is a different atmosphere as you get to see drums walking down the streets.

First night!
