We are now in Manaus but not for long as we are heading deeper in the
jungle. 3 hours drive followed by 1 hour boat up the "black river" to
an Ecolodge right by the river for 3 days. We've been on a boat ride
around including piranha fishing. Another boat ride by night. The second
day, we went for a 3 hours walk in the jungle. The guide showed us all
sorts of trees and what local people do with it. It ended up with a
massive rain. We could hear it coming towards us. It was almost as loud
as a big waterfall...
Later on in the day some of us (the
braviest) went for a 1 hour walk to a camp (well, a plastic sheet on few
wooden stick) where we've spent the night. It was an amazing experience
to sleep in hammocks right in the middle of the jungle. No noise or
light polution. Just the noises of the jungle, barbecue cooked food
served in tree leaves and wooden spoon carved by ourself. I've even been drinking coffee... A truly
unique experience!!
