Death Road and more...

En route to La Paz, we spend a bit of time driving along the Lake Titicaca... I am planning on doing a quick video but the first result isn't great!

After few hours on route and a delay in La Paz due to protesters blocking the city road, we are finally in town. Jeanne and I are getting lunch in a .... slightly overloaded place. The result however is quite impressive:
On our first full day in La Paz , we are going for a city tour starting with the Moon Valley followed by H cup final

And here we are for one of the highlights of my trip, the Death Road. After a drive to 4000m and few minutes of instructions, we start with a few km of proper road with cold and drizzle. We then start the proper Death Road! Even though the first km are down with heavy fog in the valley, it is a great experience that only got better as sky cleared up. The road then became wider and smoother. At the bottom (1200m), we enjoyed a 3 part zip line (without the bikes). 1500m length altogether with parts 350m above ground and speed up to 85km/h... We then got back via the Death Road again but in a bus this time. A party bus should I say as it had a dancing pole and really good music!

After a out of the ordinary day, to say the least, we are on the road again and heading for Potosi...

And here we are in Potosi. This town is famous for the silver mines where miners have been working for 500 years in the same way. Before going in, we go and buy some present to give to the miners. cigarets, coca leaves, gloves, alcohol and Oh! Dynamite!!

And on route again... Destination Salt Flats but that's for next time!
