End of Peru and across the border to Bolivia for more adventure!

It is time to say good bye to Peru. It has been a blast!

En route to Sullistani funeral towers...

On the next day, we make a move to Puno. The city has nothing special except it is on the shore of Lake Titicaca. Also, it is very close to the floating islands. It is a very strange impression when we get there. I didn;t expect anything but when we get on one of them, things seems very organised. We get a demonstration of how to build one of those islands. Then we are being shown a house. Finally, as we embark on one of the "traditional" boats, 3 ladies come and start singing to us in different languages....

It is our last stop in Peru. Since lake Titicaca is huge (170km long). We are still driving around it as we cross the border to Bolivia. Last crossing (well going in and out of Ecuador) has proved the exercise not as easy as it could be. However, this one goes without issue. I take time to record my introduction speech for the video I've done for Juliette's 10th birthday. Early in the afternoon we arrive in Copacabana, still on the shore of Lake Titicaca. The next morning, I go for a walk on the Island of the Sun. Although the weather is very cold and cloudy when I get on board (we are still at 3800m high), sun comes out just before midday which makes the day very pleasant!

And a couple more from our sunset on a pedallo

Next stop La Paz and the Death Road...
